Unison's LASAR Limited Authority Spark Advance Regulator was the first FAA-PMA Approved microprocessor-based electronic engine control system for GA piston aircraft. LASAR can be installed on both certificated or experimental aircraft. And, LASAR provides redundant magneto-based ignition as a backup in the event of aircraft electrical power interruption. The standard Slick Magneto overhaul recommendation of 500 hours applies and I'd recommend doing it before installing or for spares to an existing system.
